# Abigail Scott wins two NOBCChE awards December 02, 2024 - [ News ](/news-categories/news) CCB graduate student Abigail Scott (Woo Lab) won two awards at the 2024 annual National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (NOBCChE) [conference](https://nobcche.org/conference/) which took place in Rosen Shingle Creek Orlando, FL from September 30 to October 3. Abigail won (1) the Student Exchange Award for achievements in the Chemical sciences and Chemical Engineering and (2) the NOBCChE Poster Presentation Award. She won the poster award for her presentation "Substrate recognition and selection mechanisms of putative E3 ligase substrate adapters PCMTD1 and PCMTD2." Each year, the Annual Conference provides opportunities for networking and mentorship between students of all levels and professionals. In addition, the conference creates a venue for scientific dialogue through technical programming, as well as personal and professional development for students and early/mid-career professionals. CCB also attends this conference to recruit undergraduate chemists from backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in the chemical sciences. The mission of NOBCChE is to build an eminent cadre of successful diverse global leaders in STEM and advance their professional endeavors by adding value to their academic, development, leadership, and philanthropic endeavors throughout the life-cycle of their careers.
