Advances in the Electronics/Cellular Interface

Researchers in the Lieber group have developed a micrometer-scale mesh electronics platform that can be injected into live tissues (e.g. mouse neurons) and other materials, and which not only allows precise positioning of recording devices but also integrates with neighboring cells without inflammatory responses, as reported in Nature Nanotechnology in early June and the Harvard Gazette.
