The Aizenberg group reports a [new transparent coating](http://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2013/08/new-coating-turns-ordinary-glass-into-superglass/) inspired by the properties of the ultra slippery surface of the leaves of the carnivorous pitcher plant. The new material has numerous useful properties such as slipperiness, durability and toughness, and self-cleaning ability, and creates "super glass" out of ordinary glass (see [Science Newsline](/www.sciencenewsline.com/articles/2013080219410005.html)).
