CCB celebrates Summer Undergraduate Research Program
On Wednesday, August 7, CCB community members gathered in the Bauer Cafe to celebrate the accomplshments of the Summer Undergraduate Research Program participants with food and friends. Professor Daniel Nocera, Patterson Rockwood Professor of Energy, delivered an address to the undergraduates, honoring their research endevours.
Community Building Programming for Summer Undergraduate Researchers in CCB are part of the department’s push to ensure students have a deeper connection to the Chemistry department, its faculty, and vibrant community. It brings together students who work in CCB labs via various programs/fellowships including FUEL, PRISE, HCRP, Herchel Smith, Amgen, departmental funding, etc, as well as chemistry concentrators who work at any Harvard/MIT research labs. This program is co-sponsored by the CCB Director's Office and Undergraduate Studies Office in Chemistry. This summer’s events included Welcome Social featuring Prof. Dan Kahne, Faculty Lunches with Prof. Richard Liu, Prof. Jarad Mason, Prof. Christina Woo, Applying to and Attending Graduate School Panel hosted by Dr. Josh Cox, the Assistant Director of Graduate Studies in CCB, Boston Harbor Cruise and End-of-Summer Celebration and Social featuring Prof. Dan Nocera.
