#  CCB hosts 2024 Chemistry Future Leaders Symposium

On Thursday, August 29, CCB hosted the 2024 Harvard Chemistry Future Leaders Symposium (CFLS).

The mission of this symposium was to raise awareness of research opportunities at Harvard/CCB among senior graduate students and highlight a new postdoctoral fellowship, the CCB Chemistry Future Leaders Fellowship. The event showcased the achievements of early career scholars in chemistry and adjacent fields who have made outstanding scientific contributions and have shown exemplary stewardship in research and education with a focus on community and wellness.

By providing a platform for meaningful connection between talented graduate scholars and Harvard CCB, the symposium sought to improve accessibility and inclusive excellence in its community.

The following scholars presented at the symposium:

1\. Zoie Bunch "Biosynthetic Pathway and Antimicrobial Properties of a New Peptide From Staphylococcus hominis." University of North Carolina at Greensboro

2\. Dylan Holden "Prebiotic Biopolymer Synthesis and Gas Fixation using Aqueous Microdroplets" Purdue University

3\. Myron Lee Lard "Investigation of Soil Bound Environmentally Persistent Free Radicals and Dioxins in Samples Collected After Train Derailment in East Palestine, OH" Louisiana State University

4\. Nicolette Gabrielle Puskar "Probing Ultrafast Electronic Dynamics with Attosecond Noncollinear Four- Wave-Mixing Spectroscopy" University of California, Berkeley

5\. Mekedlawit Setegne "Engineering erythroid cell-specific protein-based delivery vehicles for the intracellular delivery of protein cargo" Stanford University
