On Tuesday, June 11, CCB hosted a Welcome Reception for its undergraduate summer researchers. The event took place from 5 PM to 6 PM in the Bauer Cafe, where attendees enjoyed pizza from Pinocchio's and socialized. Professor Dan Kahne kicked off the reception with opening remarks, sharing his personal journey into a research career and offering valuable advice to the budding researchers. This reception is part of a series of events organized by the Department aimed at fostering community building and professional development over the summer.

The undergraduate summer researchers attending the event are part of the Department's Community Building for Summer Undergraduate Researchers program. Open to any undergraduate students working in CCB labs and chemistry concentrators in Harvard/MIT research labs, this program is co-sponsored by the Department's Director's Office and Undergraduate Studies Office in Chemistry. Previous years' attendees have given positive feedback about the Welcome Reception, appreciating the opportunity to interact with faculty and peers. These events aim to help students feel more integrated into the Department's research community, fostering a sense of belonging and collaboration.
