Graduate student and veteran teaching fellow **Jacob Sanders**, of the Aspuru-Guzik group, was selected to serve as Peer Mentor in June at the annual 10-day US National Chemistry Olympiad Study Camp, held at the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs for 20 aspiring high school competitors. A member of the US Chemistry Olympiad team in 2005, Sanders enjoyed the chance to return to Colorado Springs as an instructor, and was the only member of the staff to experience “Chem Camp” as both student and teacher. His duties began as early as January 2013, when Russia as host country sent out a book of preparatory problems (theoretical and practical), and continued not only throughout the intense, but camaraderie-filled, camp sessions but also for another month while the four selected students finalists trained as a cohesive group for the international Olympiad competition in Moscow in mid-July. The outcome was impressive, with the U.S. team bringing in two gold medals (the only Western nation to win gold) and two silver medals, taking fourth place overall, and Sanders is looking forward to another successful year in 2014! The March 2014 issue of [The Nucleus](http://www.nesacs.org/publications_nucleus.html) (vol. 92, #7) features Sanders' perspective on Chem Camp.
