Winner of the 2015 [Esselen Award for chemistry in the public interest](http://www.nesacs.org/awards/esselen/awards_esselen_history.html), to be presented on April 16th here in Pfizer Lecture Hall by the Northeastern Section of the ACS, is [Professor Eric Jacobsen](http://www.people.fas.harvard.edu/~minotti/about_ENJ.html). As described on the NESACS site, this award "recognizes a chemist whose scientific and technical work has contributed to the public well-being, and has thereby communicated positive values of the chemical profession."
