Invited papers by the [Heller group](http://www-heller.harvard.edu/) entitled “Raman Scattering in Carbon Nanosystems: Solving Polyacetylene“ (solving the 35-year-old mystery of polyacetylene’s Raman spectrum) and by the [Aspuru-Guzik group](http://aspuru.chem.harvard.edu/) entitled “Compressed Sensing for the Fast Computation of Matrices: Application to Molecular Vibrations“ (speeding up calculations 3x by bootstrapping the process at the outset) appear in the inaugural edition of open-access [ACS Central Science](http://pubs.acs.org/journal/acscii).
