#  Shair Group Uncovers New Anti-Leukemia Approach and Mechanism

A recent paper in Nature from the [Shair](http://faculty.chemistry.harvard.edu/shair) group, highlighted in the Harvard [Gazette](http://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2015/09/inroads-against-leukemia/), describes a new therapeutic approach for acute myeloid leukemia. The work also reveals a new genetic control mechanism used by cancer that can be targeted by a small molecule named cortistatin A. Members of the [Myers](http://faculty.chemistry.harvard.edu/myers) group also contributed to the study.
