Nonenzymatic RNA copying has been enabled inside fatty vesicles by members of the Szostak group, as reported in the November 28th issue of [Science](https://www.sciencemag.org/content/342/6162/1098.abstract). The key to their success is finding a suitable chelator for Mg2+ to allow it to cross the cell membrane without damage.
