Two Dean's Distinction Awards!

At a University Hall ceremony in March, both Marlon Cummings, laboratory administrator to Prof. Alan Aspuru-Guzik, and Shao-Liang Zheng, director of the X-ray facility, received the 2016 Dean’s Distinction Award! Marlon was nominated by Prof. Aspuru-Guzik and Shao was nominated by Profs. Ted Betley and Dan Nocera. Said Cummings, “For me, having been in higher education all my career, to be recognized by my peers is a wonderful honor, and I’m very grateful for that. This is not really a job, because I love to work with the students here. This is a great acknowledgement.” It is very unusual for a single department to receive two awards in the same year and this speaks to the high quality work and dedication to excellence of these two CCB staff members. We are very proud of their achievements and are thrilled that their efforts have been recognized by Dean Smith. Warmest thanks and congratulations to Marlon and Shao!
