Develop and post staff positions, and assist hiring managers to interview and select candidates
Process staff and student employee appointments and personnel actions, and orient new hires
Manage payrolls, salary increase and performance evaluation processes
Provide guidance on applicable FAS and University human resources policies
Academic Affairs
Support post-doctoral fellows and other research and academic appointees by providing HR and logistical support, including but not limited to, questions concerning the appointment and reappointment process, visa sponsorship, payroll, taxes, maternal and paternal leave, and health and University benefits
Help graduate students navigate coursework, lab experiences, advising, and teaching
Communications
Maintain the Department and internal community websites
Write and publish news and press releases on faculty, student, and staff achievements
Support for our faculty, researchers, staff and students to acquire goods and services efficiently
Secure the financial integrity of the Department
Develop the annual budget and recharge rates
Account for spending and implement accounting controls
Coordinate billings and purchases, forms of payment and reimbursement, and account and document transactions
Maintain systems access
Serve as liaison to FAS Finance, Financial Policy Office, Strategic Procurement, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and internal and external suppliers.
Support faculty, administrators, and researchers with proposal development and submission
Develop budgets, liaise with collaborators, and facilitate proposal review by the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) and the Faculty of Arts & Sciences Research Administration Services (RAS)
Consult with the Office of Technology & Development (OTD) on industry awards
Post-Award Support
Develop financial projections and strategy advice on proper use of funds
Coordinate with collaborators and monitor sub-contract budgets
